Maximum Rock'N'Roll

"You fucking skins and punks are in luck! These rough-hewn fucks have delivered the best 7" since 'Mindless Contentment' by the PLUGZ. With Sato on vocals and guitar, Dr. Hands on bass, Hurricane Dave on drums and J-Had on guitars this REVILERS punk rock has a nasty Oi skinhead feel to it! The title song on side A, "Isolation," has a menacing danger zone to it. These Boston-area fucks have carried on the unhealthy Massachusetts skinhead/punk tradition. the 'Isolation' EP continues the saga of Boston bands that have come to destroy your paltry cow-towns like Providence, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington DC. This is hard to digest for your average college fucks.

Revilers – Isolation
7” 2009 Patac Records
Revilers are a Boston based raw punk band, who has released its debut 7” on Patac Records. The 7” offers four songs: Isolation, Next In Line, Dead End and on the outside. Where Side A goes a more straight forward path, Side B offers more melody and sing along punk songs. The vibe coming from this 7” is a bit comparable to the vibe that comes from the Blood For Blood records. Not that the music is alike but the lyrics have the same kind of rawness, a bit nihilistic and pissed off but also a message of not giving up. Songs about relying only on yourself, being isolated and living as outcasts of society but also about not giving in and fighting back. Check out this band and visit their myspace at www.myspace.com/revilers.

SHORT FAST & LOUD ZINE

Pretty damn strong east coast punk rock all the way!! Bands doing this simple punk/oi! style walk a fine line between being relevant and old hat, but these dudes have some good song writing skills and the vocals pretty much carry the day here. An angry catch disc of punk anthems. www.patacrecords.com

REVILERS – ‘ISOLATION’ 7”
Old school hardcore punk from Boston- fast and aggressive featuring members of BLOODSTAINS, ONE 4 ONE and ADD. I hear a similarity to THE PIST and also the more punk side of AGNOSTIC FRONT, it’s tough but still melodic and all four cuts on here really do it for me, actually the more I listen to this the more they remind me of an East Coast BONECRUSHER which is a great thing! I’m down with this for sure because they just nail it right – it’s nice and heavy but never over the top with too much guitar presence, the vocals are aggressive but great – they never get too growly and it’s just great old fashioned hardcore punk. I’m down with this for sure.

REVILERS-Isolation (Patrac, 7" EP)
A kick-ass debut for this Cape Cod band although I don't think they're all from that area. No matter. Four songs of sturdy, street-wise punk and rock ‘n roll is the name of the game, here. You can hear a little bit of Blitz at times, particularly for “Dead End,” but a song like “Next In Line” is fired up, rockin’ fodder. Beefy guitars and gruff, heartfelt vocals. The songs are melodic without being wimpy, exuding a defiant spirit and a pure punk heart. (

REVILERS:
Isolation: 7”
A really nice record from the four-piece punk rock band out of ........Boston: sharp guitars, edgy vocals, bombastic beats. “Isolation” begins with an intro sample that’s really funny and “On the Outside” closes out the record with a tune that’s mournful and melodic. The first side’s got a little SoCal sass but the flipside is very English. Highly recommended.

SAVAGE AMUSEMENT

REVILERS – Isolation 7” (
www.myspace.com/revilers) . 4 tracks of powerful UK82 influenced streetpunk, bringing to mind the bands on Punkcore/Charged Recs. Guitars have a nice crisp ....Marshall.... type sound and it’s well played , though the vocals growl and sort of get hidden behind the wall of sound. Reminds me of ....Defiance.... a bit.

Isolation

Isolation EP
The REVILERS of Boston are uniteing on their Debut-7" the both genres for which the town at the Charles River is well-known: Hardcore and Streetpunk. In the both tracks on the A-side ("Isolation" and Next in line"), the REVILERS don't prepare new records in tempo cause the songs are a little bit slow comparatively to others.
But on the B-Side at the songs "Dead end" and "On the outside" they are getting faster and the melodies are coming to fruition. The influences of the band are clearly recognizable, but on this EP they differentiate from other often complexly produced outputs of established bands of Boston.
Not that there will come some misunderstandings. These "complexly produced" releases are realy brilliant and I grant these bands the possibillity to produce their LPs on such a high level.
But I'm really happy, that there are existing such bands like the REVILERS who bring back this typically sound back to the basics and are keeping the necessary rawness.
